Waterloo & DistrictPool League - Winter League 2009-2010
Rules & Regulations:
1. The entry fee to the league is £150; this includes entry into the Team Cup. In addition all teams are required to pay a £50 bond, returnable upon completion of all fixtures. All monies must be paid prior to the start date of the league. All cheques must be made payable to J. Tickell. Guaranteed prize fund of £1200. Total prize fund subject to number of teams.
2. Matches are held on Tuesday evenings or another evening if mutually agreed by both teams. If a match is played on any other evening than a Tuesday, the team requesting the change of date must give at least 24 hours notice. The evening can only be rearranged if the home team agree, as they have the final say. The league is to be notified if there are any changes to the fixtures. Please note: Teams are allowed a maximum of two postponements during the season.
3. Matches commence at 8:00 pm. Visiting teams should be at their venue by 7:45pm. Any later starting times should be with the mutual consent of both team captains.
4. The home team should make the table available to the opposition for practice no later than 7:45pm. The home team to put their names on the match sheet first.
5. A match consists of 12 singles frames, 2 sets of 6 frames. A winning team shall be awarded 3 points. In the event of a draw there will be a single frame playoff, the winner shall receive 2 points, the loser 1 point. Players competing in the second set of six frames need not be the same players that competed in the first, however in the event of a draw the player that competes in the playoff frame must have already played at least 1 frame during the match.
6. Player registration is £10 per player (£5 Ladies and Juniors), to be collected by the Team Captains upon completion of the registration form and receipt of 2 passport sized photographs (new registrations). Teams are required to register at least 6 players before the start date of the season. Teams can register up to 12 players, (maximum of 4 Professionals/ Internationals can register but only 2 can play in a match). Players must be registered within 7 days of playing. Any team playing an unregistered player or more than 2 Professionals/Internationals in a match will be deducted 3 points and any frames won by the offending player.
7. Team Captains should notify each other if there are any players who will be late to the venue before the match commences, otherwise they will forfeit the frame. If the player has not arrived by the time his/her frame is due to start they will forfeit the frame.
8. All teams are required to play a match if they have at least 4 players available. No team can start a match without a minimum of 4 players. If a team is unable to attend a match you must contact the other team and notify the League by midday of the match day at the latest. Any team failing in this will be fined £25 from their Bond payment on the first occasion and will forfeit the match 12 v 0. On the second occasion they will be fined the remaining £25 of their Bond payment, forfeit the match 12 v 0 and be expelled from the League.
9. Any team arriving late for a match will be docked 1 frame every 15 minutes. If they have failed to arrive after 1 hour, by 9pm, they will be fined £25 from their bond payment and forfeit the match. On the second occasion they will be fined the remaining £25 of their bond payment, forfeit the match 12 v 0 and be expelled from the League.
10. In the event of a team withdrawing/ being expelled from the League and not completing the season, all results involving the team will be erased from the League Table if they have not completed the first half of the season. If they have completed the first half of the season then those results will stand and the remainder will be erased. Any players involved in singles competitions from that team will also be withdrawn.
