Etienne Wagner reached the final of the Region 7 Senior Tour event at Chichester on Saturday, losing to tour champion Rod Altes. Etienne finished 4th overall. Waterloo league regulars John Kelly and Rodney Bourke finished 7th and 8th respectively, and Jerry Tickell in 15th (of 64). All will be seeded for the Grand Final at Southampton in November.
Congratulations to Jamie Fay, who despite losing in the last 16 of Sunday's Club Tour event, still confimed himself as tour champion. Brendan Connors reached the quarter finals of this event, finishing 6th overall. Both players gained promotion to the Senior Tour next season and, along with Jack Pople(14th) and Joe Prince(16th), will be seeded for the Grand Final at Southampton in November.
EVENT 4 NEWS:
Jamie Fay, currently Waterloo 2 Interleague player wins Region 7 Club Tour event 4.
According to our on-the-spot reporter, Jamie reached the final in event 4 and won, beating Sussex player of several years standing Pete Ashman 6-2 with some dynamic potting.
Having fallen in the last 16 in event 1 earlier this year Jamie then reached the final in event 2 where he was narrowly beaten 6-4 by Tom Kennedy. He was beaten 6-1 by our own Brendan Connors in the 2nd round of event 3 but certainly made up for this in event 4!
Published ranking positions following Club Tour event 3 show Tom Kennedy 2nd, Jamie 3rd & Brendan 4th with Pete Ashman lying 13th so Jamies position should have improved!
