SUMMER LEAGUES - GENERAL RULES:
-
All matches will start at 8 o’clock.
Away team must have access to the table for ten minute practice beforehand.
One frame will be awarded for every 15 minutes a team is late.
If a team has not arrived by 9:15, by which time the match score will have become 5-0, then the match will be officially cancelled and a 9-0 win will be given to the waiting team.
-
Stop-watches will be used as the 60-second rule is to be implemented.
Home team players will time each game, away team players will referee each game.
-
Summer league matches are played using the ‘Golden Cue’ format, requiring a minimum of three players per team. Barring substitutions on either side, each player will play each other and no player can play the same opponent twice.
-
The format is as follows:
Player 1 vs Player 1
Player 2 vs Player 2
Player 3 vs Player 3
Player 1 vs Player 3
Player 2 vs Player 1
Player 3 vs Player 2
Player 1 vs Player 2
Player 2 vs Player 3
Player 3 vs Player 1
There will be no deviation from this format.
-
Match sheets will be available to print from this website - Follow the published link
-
Captains will name their STARTING THREE PLAYERS only in the first instance.
After the first round of games has been played (i.e. after three frames), captains are at liberty to make substitutions.
Further substitutions can be made after the second round of games (i.e. after six frames).
Any player brought on is done so as a DIRECT SUBSTITUTE for another player, and assumes that player’s number and position in the order.
-
If a player is substituted, HE/SHE MAY NOT BE BROUGHT BACK ON TO PLAY.-
-
All frames must be played. If a team decides not to complete its frames, then all unplayed frames will count as wins for the other team.
-
Matches are played according to World Rules.
-
The home team will act as Timekeeper for all games
The away team will act as Referee for all games
The referee’s decision is final.
-
It is the responsibility of the winning captain to ensure that results are submitted.
-
All enquiries to the tournament organiser.

SUMMER LEAGUE 2007:
Final Tables following Group stages:
|
|
|
GROUP ONE - 'NOLANS A' romped home clear winners of the group with a clean sweep of
4 out of 4 wins!
'THE PINEAPPLE' rise to a lofty 2nd place after losing their first 2 matches then coming good
on the home straight with better frame difference.
'FERN LODGE B' finished 3rd by a nose over a disappointingly 4th placed 'RED STAR BELL B'
while the 'BLACK HORSE' trotted in 5th. |

GROUP TWO - 'RED STAR BELL A' win the group, only losing 6 frames, 'FERN LODGE A' came
2nd winning 18 & losing 9 while 'NOLANs B' were pipped into 3rd place having only won 15 &
losing 12.
'JFKs REJECTS' only succeeded in fielding a team for 2 matches and so were subsequently
disqualified - ALL POINTS FOR & AGAINST HAVE BEEN DEDUCTED - and last but certainly not
least - the 'BLACK HORSE LADIES' won just 2 frames, unfortunately these were both earned
against JFK's Rejects and have sadly gone away! |

Congratulations to Brendan, Darren, Dave and Naz. Throughout the tournament, the Red Star boys have certainly shown a lot of consistency and at times; just a little bit of magic.
'Nolans A' were always going to struggle after only being able to field 2 players for Tuesday night's final, meaning they were 3-0 down before the 1st frame but Mark and Wake played some outstandingly tough pool and made it clear that they had come to play but the Red Star ground it out to win the 2 frames neccessary to seal the match. |
